Bay Adelaide Centre - East Tower, Toronto

DISCOVERING SPIN: SURPRISE!

The Bay Adelaide Centre is a prominent office complex in the Financial District of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It comprises three main office towers including Bay Adelaide East: The second tower, completed in October 2016, is a 44-story skyscraper. It continued the architectural and design language of the first tower, adding more office space to the complex.

Concept
The most important aspect of Art Spin, an artist group, is the journey through the process. In the East Tower of the Bay Adelaide Centre, Art Spin takes over with an exhibit called Discovering Spin. This Journey guides individuals throughout the space to discover while connecting aboveground to underground.

The sensation of repetition, and partition walls take people through multiple experiences with studios, exhibits, installations, and surprise boxes! While these moments of discovery happen, it also gives a sense of distraction and a moment of stillness to the individuals. Additionally, many partition windows have been strategically placed to draw the attention of the crowd directing them to a moment.

Through the exploration of precedent diagrams, bubble and block diagrams allow an understanding of spatial planning and schematics.
